Nahrávka byla pořízena v listopadu 2009 v průběhu dvou zcela vyprodaných koncertů v Palau St. Jordi v Barceloně. Depeche Mode mají za sebou jedno z nejúspěšnějších koncertních turné novodobé historie. Během Tour Of The Universe trojice odehrála 102 koncerů ve 40 zemích světa a potěšila více než 2,7 milionu příznivců, kteří se přišli na koncerty podívat. Dvě noci, které David Gahan, Martin Gore a Andy Fletcher strávili v Barceloně, patřily k nejvydařenějším. Na záznam se vešlo 21 skladeb.
